Weather and clothing
Winter begins late in March and ends at the beginning of September. Winters are mild with warm days although mornings and evenings can be chilly.

Laundry gets done daily so pack lightly. Long sleeve shirts and trousers are recommended for protection against the sun and thorns. However shorts are fine if preferred. A warm jacket, well worn boots and a hat are important. Casual clothes are acceptable for dinner time and bring a swimming costume so you can cool off. Cammo clothes may be worn in South Africa.

The Limpopo Province is a malaria free area. Consult with your medical doctor regarding vaccinations or medication. Take note that if you travel to the east, like Kruger National Park, up north to Botswana and Zimbabwe, that you need to take precautions because of malaria in these areas.

Clients are met at OR Thambo International Airport in Johannesburg and transported to the hunting area by air conditioned vehicle. This trip takes about 4 hours to the camp. Air charters are available on request and at an additional cost.

Currency in South Africa is ZAR- RAND. Credit cards are not accepted by us, but are welcomed by most shops. On all non-export items 14% VAT (Value Added Tax) is payable i.e. car hire, flights, accommodation etc.

Customs, passports and visas
In South Africa custom clearance is operative at port of entry. South Africa requires a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond departure date and depending on your country of origin, a Visa. Your passport must have at least three blank Visa pages (not endorsement pages).

Packing, dipping and shipping of trophies
Field preparation of trophies are done in camp and transported to a shipping agent designated by us. Clients will be put in touch with the shipping agent to discuss their requirements and arrangements for payment.

  • Taxidermy options can be discussed during your safari.
  • Appendix I animals require an import and export CITES permit.
  • Appendix II animals require an export CITES permit.

Things to do the area:
At an additional cost the following are available in the area to experience:

  • Interact with Bushman
  • Visit the White Lion breeding project
  • Visit the rhino museum, feed the rhino and visit the goat’s cheese farm
  • African elephant back rides
  • Horse riding (not at the camp)
  • Boat trips – depending on water levels
  • Game drives combined with sundowners or bush lunches.
  • Various beauty salons available for pampering
  • Golf in the town of Lephalale
  • Visit the rose farm

*Trips to Sun City, the Kruger National Park, Victoria Falls and other destinations can be arranged.
